Lcang Group is consisted of ShanDong Lcang International Logistic Inc. Corp. Ltd and its 6 subsidiaries, 5sub-subsidiaries and 3 branch offices. Now, the business covers four main areas, including Shipping Line Operations, Supply Chain Management, Container Leasing and E-commerce.
Let’s review the company’s history. There are three important milestones worth mentioning.
The first milestone would be the time that it turned from a container maintenance company into an NVOCC company.
The formal body of the company, Qingdao Bo An Container Limited Company was founded in 2001. With only three staff numbers at the beginning, it began its operations in container technical maintenance business. Since it was growing rapidly, ShanDong BAL International Logistic Limited Company (which was renamed to ShanDong Lcang International Logistic Inc. Corp. Ltd in 2015) was founded in 2004, with its subsidiary, BAL Container Line Co., Limited. mainly doing business in the areas of container shipping and related freight forwarding operations in the regions including Japan, Korea and Southeast Asia.
The second milestone would be the time that it turned from an NVOCC company focusing on one single terminal into a comprehensive logistic company with terminals all around the globe.
The company began the overall layout for the whole package of terminals in 2008. It founded subsidiaries in Shanghai, Ningbo, Tianjin, Dalian, Kunshan, Xiamen, Shenzhen and other cities. In the meantime, it made the general layout and entered Whole Process Logistic Supply Chain, Container Leasing, Freight Forwarding and other businesses through acquisition methods.
The third milestone would be the time that it comprehensively transformed into a company deeply connected with industrial Internet.
In order to follow the shifting tides of the Internet, we are paying close attention to the trend of Internet e-commerce. In 2015, the company made acquisition of Shanghai Hanyun Network Technology Co. Ltd. And now, the ocean shipping logistic e-commerce platform, “Lcang Network” which was made public by the company is now in full operation. The platform accomplishes the purpose of reducing logistic costs, improving efficiency and service satisfaction. Starting in the year of 2018, it made acquisitions including MV BOYA, MV BAL BOAN and other container ships. These acquisitions were important moves while the company was arranging the comprehensive logistics layout. It laid a solid foundation for the integration of supply chain, it lowered long-term operation costs, and generated sufficient cash flow and return on capital.
